My Final Year Project is a short 3D animation set in North-West Japan where a girl walks up a hill to get home and observes the beauty of the Honshu forest that is overlooked by her home on the edge of a cliff.
Inspiration for this project comes from my personal interest in Japanese culture and the scenic views that the country has to offer. Japan is a country I would love to visit in the future, so why not set the scene there.

The Final Video
The idea behind the project was to be able to take the viewer on the same journey as Aiya (the protagonist). It was also an opportunity for me to put my skills out there, I am strongest with scene building and making a scene look realistic, and with my own interest in Japanese culture, I combined these two and had a concept for the scene.
The story behind the project is very minimal. I wanted to make an almost silent piece of film work for a viewer to watch and appreciate the work behind it.
Overall I am proud. I have brought the concept to life with smooth animation movements, realistic texturing and a purpose.
